I've never heard of a Pupusa buffet but we were taking my grandma out so figured we'd try! And I'm glad we did! The pupusas were delicious but the caldo de pollo was even better! No lie, that had to have been among the top caldo de pollo I've ever had. So much flavor and plenty of vegetables. And you can't beat the price of 8.50 for the buffet which includes pupusas, caldo de pollo and different flavors of agua Fresca.
This little hole-in-the-wall buffet is $8.50 with pupusas and your drink. They have five or six different kinds of pupusas and some soup, coleslaw stuff, and salsas. The pupusas were good, hot and fresh. They only put a handful out on the buffet so they don't get cold or dried out. The horchata was pretty good too.
The pupusas are delicious and they have a large variety of flavors and combinations. They also offer multiple flavors of waters and soda pops. The best part is that all the Pupusa are warm and they continually restock.
Cheap, well supplied buffet with all the pupusa basics and toppings like the salsa and curtido. The chicken soup was sooo good too!!!
Utterly transcendent. Let's leave behind any manufactured notions of refinement or high culture; Cocina Latina Pupusa Buffet offers the single greatest restaurant experience you will ever find. A respectable variety of pupusas, served fresh in stack after stack of blackened, cheesy glory. I say served fresh, despite being a buffet, because they will not stay on the buffet bar long - especially, and rightfully, the queso y loroco. I can't even use those words without feeling hearts and stars in my eyes. For just under $8 (as of the time of this writing) you can pile on all the cabbage, pour over all the sauce, plow through all the pupusas, slam all the delicious soup, and drink all the horchata you've always dreamt about. Yes, I'm serious about the latter. You get to fill your own horchata as often as you like, and it's the best kind of horchata: not grainy, and no overbearing artificial cinnamon flavor to be found. Set all of the above to a bright and upbeat Spanish language soundtrack, and throw in a largely hands-off yet friendly staff, and you can fall off the face of Houston for a transformative hour that will surely bring tears to your eyes. This is, in all honesty, the best restaurant experience I have ever had, and I cannot recommend it enough.
